Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. With a passion for family law, Ashley's current legal practice focuses on various aspects of family issues. She concentrates the majority of her work on divorce cases, alimony disputes, property distribution in marital relationships, child custody battles, child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues, step-parent and private party adoptions as well as concerns regarding child welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning matters, including trusts, wills, probate, and estate administration, along with commercial, contract, and civil litigation cases. Ashley has served a court-appointed mediator since 2019 and assists parties in helping to resolve their issues without needing to litigate or court involvement. In addition to court-appointed mediation, Ashley also mediates in private cases for people who would prefer to avoid the litigation and court process.

After completing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she earned dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. When she graduated in 2013, she excelled in her studies, placing among the top 10 students in her class. While at law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the prestigious Western New England Law Review, showcasing her commitment to legal scholarship and research.

Ashley began her clerkship journey after completing her law degree. She was employed by renowned jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She was privileged to serve as a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown Maryland to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. As an associate attorney. Her main focus within the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services on cases involving child welfare. Through her dedication, Ashley played a vital role in assisting children who were victims of abuse or neglect at the parent or caregivers. Her commitment to social justice extended beyond the legal realm as she was active as a board member for the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force, which worked hard to raise awareness about human trafficking in the tristate area.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., and developed her practice in family law including custody, divorce guardianships, child maintenance and divorce and financial planning and estate planning – wills, trusts, power of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies – and mediation.
